MEET THE BAND

M.jpg
JON MALLEK

MALLEK is a band fronted by Jon Mallek, formerly of HavocHate. He often traveled for hours to rehearsal with HavocHate after working long days at a Brooklyn, NY hospital. Once a shy kid who played drums to hide in the background, Mallek floated between a succession of local bands before tossing away his sticks.

”I was told by friends that I had potential as a vocalist”, he recalls, “and I believed them."

Early in 2001, the first HavocHate record ‘This Violent Earth’ was recorded during a grueling two-month period in 2001 at Big Blue Meenie Studios in Jersey City, New Jersey. But after some time had passed, the album was remixed and remastered with a little help from producer/guitarist James Murphy (Death, Disincarnate, Testament). Mallek then went on a merciless assault of the senses with HavocHate, which began from the second they stepped on stage until they left everyone who bared witness sweaty, short of breath and wanting more.

There is little wonder why the band converted legions of followers while touring  extensively with such acts as Manowar, Immortal, Usurper, Motorhead and Anthrax, and playing several festivals with the likes of Testament, Exodus, Saxon, Diamond Head, Nuclear Assault, Arch Enemy, Cannibal Corpse, Overkill, Budgie, Fozzy, Vio-lence, and Dragonlord just to name a few.

“It does not matter if I perform in front of 2 or 20,000 people," said Mallek. “My objective has always been to make sure everyone in the audience remembers me and my band."

Currently Mallek is working with musician/ producer and rock legend Tim McMurtrie of Tripsquad Productionz on his latest band incarnation MALLEK.

Some of the banshee-screams of the HavocHate days have been replaced with a more melodic element that will blow you away.
